Day 3 - Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Day 3 at the CIA was "Latin America" Day! Cooking in Latin America involves lots of lime, chiles, cilantro, tomatoes, coconut milk, dried shrimp, avocado and ground nuts. Other staple ingredients include bananas, bell peppers, mango, papaya, star fruit, tomatillos, plantains, corn, jalapenos and kidney beans.  Much of their food is deep-fried. They also use a circular griddle called a "comal".

Team one was in charge of Tortilla Chips with Pico de Gallo and Guacamole, Pollo en Pipian Verde, Refried Beans and Churros.  Team two prepared Small Tacos with Chicken, Corn Tortillas, Pork Baked in Leaves, Black Rice, and Orange & Jicama Salad.

Take a look at all of this food!
